What Would Jesus Say to the Methodists?

Image
Returning to the Fire of Holiness and Mission “Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works…” — Revelation 2:4–5, NKJV The Methodist movement began with a spark of revival that spread like wildfire across England and the American colonies. It was born not in the comfort of stained glass cathedrals but in open fields, among coal miners, prisoners, orphans, and the broken. John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, once said, “The world is my parish,” and with that declaration, Methodists became known for their evangelistic fervor, social action, and pursuit of personal holiness. So what would Jesus say to the Methodists today? He would first speak with deep love. Jesus walks among His churches, as Revelation tells us. He knows their labor, their struggles, their history, and their heart. To the Methodists, He might begin with, “I see your compassion, your advocacy for justice, your tire...

What Would Jesus Say to the Baptists?

Image
Holding Fast to the Word—But Not Forgetting the Weightier Matters The Baptist movement, with its many branches—Southern Baptists, Independent Baptists, Free Will Baptists, Missionary Baptists, and others—has left a powerful mark on Christianity. Known for its unwavering commitment to the authority of Scripture, believer’s baptism, and passionate evangelism, the Baptist tradition has long been one of the strongest voices calling the world to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. But what if Jesus stood before a Baptist congregation today? What would He affirm? What would He challenge? What would He lovingly correct? Let’s imagine. Faithfulness to the Word Jesus might begin with a commendation: “You have honored My Word. You have stood firm on the authority of Scripture in a time when many are compromising. You have not shied away from proclaiming the gospel clearly and boldly. You have cherished My teachings, upheld baptism by immersion as a symbol of new life, and sent missionaries to ...

What Would Jesus Say to Messianic Jews?

Image
You Have Not Denied My Name—But There Is Still More to Be Fulfilled To the Messianic Jews—those who believe in Me, Yeshua, as the promised Messiah—I commend your courage and faithfulness. You have embraced the truth spoken through Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms, and you have seen how all Scripture points to Me (Luke 24:44). You have endured rejection for My name, even from your own people, and yet you have remained steadfast. You are witnesses to the fulfillment of Isaiah 53 and Daniel 9. You proclaim Me as Messiah, not just to Gentiles, but to the house of Israel. I know your love for the Torah and your desire to honor the traditions of your forefathers. But I say to you, let your identity be found fully in Me—not in the shadow, but in the substance (Colossians 2:16-17). Remember, I came not to abolish the Law, but to fulfill it (Matthew 5:17). Walk in the Spirit, not in obligation, and let your observances point others to Me, the Living Word. You have stood at a difficult inters...

What Would Jesus Say to the Lutheran Church Today?

1 What Would Jesus Say to the Lutheran Church Today? A Call to Stay Rooted, Spirit-Filled, and Mission-Focused "To My beloved people who carry the name of a bold reformer, I honor the courage that birthed your movement — a return to My Word, a protest against corruption, and a cry for grace over works. I gave Martin Luther strength not to divide, but to awaken. That fire must not become a museum exhibit. Let it burn again. I see your hunger for liturgy, order, and reverence. These are good — but I want your hearts, not just your traditions. I desire a living relationship with each of you, not only historic creeds. Many of your churches are faithful in word, but have grown weary in spirit. Others have let the culture reshape the truth I gave you. Return to Me. You have proclaimed  sola scriptura  — now live it fully. Let My Word guide you in both holiness and compassion. Do not ignore what I said about the Holy Spirit. He is still working, still empowering, still convicting,...
